Choosing the right biotin supplement to encourage your hair growth can be a very tedious task. This is made even more so by the fact that some biotin supplements have other ingredients in them, while others simply contain biotin.

So, to help decide on biotin supplements, here is a list of the top 7 options that are worth looking at. These have various things in their favor, with the top one being the most likely to help you with your hair growth.

#1. Folexin

When it comes to biotin supplements, Folexin is at the top of the list for a variety of reasons. Though it does have a few things besides the biotin in it, this is a good thing. The 600 mcg of biotin is easier for your body to absorb thanks to some of the other ingredients.

These other ingredients are as great for your hair as biotin, and they cover some of the other hair loss problems. In short, this makes it that much more likely to help with your hair growth, since biotin isn’t always the problem. In addition, these ingredients are ones that you can understand and pronounce, which is always a good thing.

Folexin, and the brand behind it, has a long history of helping people with hair growth. Folexin has a history of having plenty of facts to back up their claims. Also, buying from a company this size means that you are far less likely to be purchasing a knockoff.

Smaller companies are often lacking in warranties or guarantees, which is also why established companies are better in many ways. They freely share that they are located in USA, that they work in an FDA-registered facility, and other important information.

As for Folexin’s price, this is also on the lower end of the spectrum compared to its peers. And then the company offers deals to make it even more affordable for you. So, you get good quality without having to break the bank. Between these and the nice warranty, it is one of the least expensive options.

Finally, Folexin is meant for everyone, and it is simple enough for anyone to take as well. The two capsules are the customary amounts and are easy to remember to take without having a horrible taste.

#2. Replexin DHT Blocker

Though marketed as a DHT blocker, the main ingredient in it is biotin. In fact, at 2,000 mcg of biotin, it has even more of this than Folexin does. It only has ten great ingredients other than the ones needed to make the capsules that form the pills.

Each of these ten ingredients, however, serves a purpose for your hair. They are ones that you are going to recognize and pronounce without any problems. For example, the second main ingredient is saw palmetto, which almost everyone has at least heard about for hair.

As for the company behind it, Replexin has gone out of their way to make sure that you can feel safe when you take their supplements. To this end, they have Made With Non-GMO’s certification and a 3rd Party Certified For Purity And Potency certification.

Besides those, they also have a GMPc certification and are made in the USA. These are all great certifications that are really comforting to have, and it says a lot that they hold these. In short, these are all signs that this is a great company if it takes the time to get these done.

Next, the Replexin cost is comparable to that of Folexin in that they are inexpensive. Like the other, they both have good quality to them, which makes them well worth the price you pay. There are also the occasional deals, and you can easily find this on Amazon.

Taking this DHT blocker is as simple as taking the two pills daily, like with most biotin supplements. One month’s supply of the supplement is in each bottle, which is also normal. In all, this good option for a biotin supplement, and it has everything that you could want in it.

#3. Hairo Nutrition DHT Blocker

This DHT Blocker is another biotin supplement that also has other ingredients in it. At 5,000 mcg of biotin per serving, it has even more biotin than either of the first two options. The Hairo Nutrition brand is likely not one that you have heard about, but, as its name implies, it focuses on helping your hair.

Their DHT Blocker does a very good job of this, especially with the list of other ingredients in it. These are: Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Iron, Magnesium, Calcium, Zinc, Folate, Manganese, and Potassium.

And those many vitamins do not include the plants in it as well. These are: Saw Palmetto, Horsetail Extract, Fo-Ti, Bamboo Extract, Nettle Root, Peony, Spirulina, Plant Sterols, Alfalfa, Barley Grass, and a couple of others.

Finally, the four ingredients that go into making the capsule do not include any gelatin or coloring. Therefore, this biotin supplement option is completely vegan, even being certified as such. It is also Non-GMO certified, as well as having a No-Gluten certification.

The last certification that you will find on the outside of this bottle is that it Made in the USA. However, they do claim to work according to GMP guidelines, though they do not have the corresponding certification for that.

Like most other supplements of this kind, you are to take two capsules per day. One bottle of this DHT Blocker is set to last you for 30 days. In terms of cost, this Hairo Nutrition option is comparable to Folexin, so it is easy to afford.

You can also purchase this supplement in larger amounts to save money. All in all, this way of getting biotin is a pretty good one, which is why it made the list.

#4. Spring Valley Hair, Skin, & Nail

Like the previous example, this Spring Valley supplement has 5,000 mcg of biotin in each serving. This amount of biotin is plenty for most people. Meanwhile, the other ingredients in it assist not only your hair, but your skin and nails as well.

This variety is good for your body overall. However, it does mean that some of the ingredients may not be there for your hair. This Hair, Skin, and Nail supplement can be a good thing if you want to work on more than hair.

Inside, it has Vitamin, A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Zinc, and a few others. Besides these, Argan Oil, Horsetail, Silica, Coconut Oil, and a couple of other things. Finally, the capsule part has Soybean Oil, Gelatin, and a couple of similar ingredients.

In short, though better than having just biotin, the gelatin ad soybean ingredients may be a problem for some. That, and the daily dose being three of the soft gels instead of two, makes this supplement not for everyone.

However, this Spring Valley supplement is one that has 120 of these soft gels in it. This makes for an awkward 40 days that each bottle will last you. However, considering how inexpensive this supplement is, this slight inconvenience is well worth it.

As for the certifications, this one actually doesn’t have any official ones in its favor. This supplement does say it is gluten-free, though, so that is mildly helpful. All in all, this Hair, Skin, and Nail option is a pretty solid choice if you are looking for a biotin supplement for your hair.

#5. Vitamin Bounty Grow Your Hair

The Grow Your Hair supplement from Vitamin Bounty is yet another easy way to get some biotin. As with most other biotin supplements, this one has many other ingredients. It also has 3,000 mcg of biotin in it, which is more than some supplements have and less than others.

Other than the biotin, this Grow Your Hair has Vitamin, A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Niacin, Iron, Folic Acid, Calcium, Phosphorus, Iodine, Magnesium, Zinc, and a handful of others.

Besides these, this biotin supplement also has some horsetail and one or two other plants. In short, though there are plenty of vitamins, the beneficial herbs are rather lacking in this option. Still, considering that the capsules have no gelatin in them and a good amount of the biotin, they are beneficial.

As with biotin supplements in general, these come in 60 pills per bottle. However, that is somewhat deceiving since, instead of the usual two pills per day, you are supposed to take three a day. Therefore, one bottle lasts only 20 days, which is a very odd amount of time for obvious reasons.

For one month’s supply, you will need to buy two bottles, and you will have extra. However, at least three bottles even out to last two months, so it is not as bad as it could be. This does also make this Vitamin Bounty option slightly more expensive.

Whether or not you want all these vitamins is up to you. This is formulated for hair growth, yes, but it is also for skin and nails as well. On the plus side, Grow Your Hair is certified as gluten-free, GMO-free, GMP certified, and it also claims to be completely sugar-free as well as being made in the USA.

#6. Nature’s Bounty Biotin

This biotin supplement option is great if you only want the biotin and nothing else. It should be no surprise that this biotin pill has the largest amount of biotin in it than any other supplement. In fact, the Nature’s Bounty Biotin has a whopping 10,000 mcg of biotin in it.

And this is the amount of biotin you get from one pill a day, not the usual two that many other supplements have you taking for one dose. This means that these 120 soft gels will last you about four months for one bottle instead of just one.

This makes this biotin perhaps the cheapest option out of all of the ones on this list. This cheap biotin does not cover any other possible hair problems, though. The only ingredients besides the biotin are the ones that make up the outside layer of the soft gels.

In fact, the gelatin, beeswax, soybean oil, vegetable glycerin, and color are the only other things. Gelatin and soybean oil are not ingredients that everyone can have. So, pay attention to these soft gel ingredients if you have problems with either of these.

However, you should know that taking this much biotin has been known to give people headaches. There is also the logical matter of just how much biotin you really need. Your body can only process so much of this, after all, and excess of it has to be filtered out.

Then there is the minor detail that biotin has a slightly unpleasant smell all on its own. This smell is easy to ignore, but is something that sensitive noses should be aware of. As a company, Nature’s Bounty has been around for over 50 years. This longstanding is because they are reliable and have an excellent quality to their products.

#7. Now Foods Biotin

This biotin supplement from Now Foods is another option if you want the biotin but nothing else. It does not have as much biotin in it as the last option does, having only 5,000 mcg compared to the others 10,000 mcg.

However, as pointed out, too much biotin is not a good thing. So, this biotin pill may be all you need, especially if you tend to eat foods that already have biotin. As with the other pure biotin supplement, you only need to take one pill every day.

What is unique to the Now Foods Biotin is the fact that they have two different bottle sizes. Their smaller bottle has 60 pills in it, or you can get their larger size that has 120 pills inside. This is nice, especially since Now Foods doesn’t offer you the chance to subscribe to them.

Speaking of subscribing, remembering to order this supplement when you run out is very easy to do. This is especially so considering the amount of time that your one bottle will last you. However, on the plus side, you should know by the end of one large bottle if it is working for you or not.

Like the Nature’s Bounty option, this supplement has its fair share of certifications. They have the Good Manufacturing Practices certification (GMP), a Non-GMO certification, ad an Underwriters Laboratories certification. In addition, this biotin is also both Kosher and Halal safe, so that you can use it with a clear conscience.

This biotin supplement does have a few ingredients in its capsule. However, these do not include gelatin or color. Finally, if the 10,000 mcg is what you really want, Now Foods does have an extra strength option that has that much biotin in each dose.

What To Look For In Biotin Supplements

Knowing what you want in a biotin supplement can sometimes be the hardest part. One thing that is vital you decide is if you want simply biotin, or if you want a supplement that has other ingredients in it. Other ingredients can help with the absorption of the biotin as well as helping with hair growth.

This is why most hair growth supplements do have biotin in them, but they also have other things in them. Also, there is biotin’s smell. Biotin, by itself, does not have a pleasant smell, which may or may not bother you. If certain ingredients are things you can’t have, you obviously have to keep an eye out for these.

Other things include the various certifications. These can give you a great idea if a product is quality or not. Essentially, the more and the more varied these are, the more work the company has to do in order to get them. This hard work shows that they care about their product, which is always something you want.

How long a company or brand has been around is also a good thing to look at. For example, both Folexin and the company behind it have been around for a very long time. This is a great sign, as companies that don’t last long usually sell inferior products.

The same goes in part to a brand’s popularity. Some brands are simply better at advertising their products, but real products that truly work get around. These also get popular all on their own merit, and they stay popular and well recommended.

Finally, you need to search for warranty information, especially if you are uncertain something will work. Here too, established brands have a better tendency to offer better warranties for you.

Final Thoughts

Hopefully, this list of the top 7 biotin supplements was useful to you in some way. At the very least, this list should have given you a couple of possible supplements that you think might work for you. One of the great things about any biotin pill is the fact that it is a natural way to help your hair.

Because of this, biotin supplements can be taken with virtually any other hair growth treatment you might want to try. It can even be taken with other supplements and with regular daily vitamins without any problems.

However, certain vitamins that are often added to the biotin may be too much if added to other vitamin pills. So, care should be taken here so that you don’t overdose on a certain vitamin.

And, if after all of this, you can’t decide which biotin supplement you want, just go with Folexin. This is the best biotin supplement, and perhaps the best hair supplement in general. It has worked for so many people, that it is quite likely to work for you too.
