Lifestyle changes and vitamins have been shown to reduce hair loss and promote hair growth. Hair loss is a genetic trait but excellent nutrition plays an important role in hair growth. Hair products like leave on conditioners, shampoos, masks can restore vibrant, healthy hair and prevent hair loss. Adding nutrients will further boost hair regrowth.
1. Vitamin C
If you want to have a healthy hair, add vitamin C to your diet. Lemons and oranges are rich in vitamin C as well as green peppers. Recommended dosage is 1,000 to 3,000 milligrams per day.
2. Protien
Lack of protein can lead to hair loss because our hair is made of protein. Consuming foods high in protein like protein shakes from whey and animal products like dairy and meat can help promote hair growth.
3. Iron
Hair loss can be minimized by Iron. The mineral iron also helps improve hair growth by allowing normal circulation of blood in the scalp. Iron rich foods include raisins, apricots and liver.
4. B Vitamins
Complex B vitamins and Biotin are essential to grow hair. B3 encourages hair growth by helping the scalp increase blood circulation. When taking a supplement, it is recommended that you have a B complex which consists of all the B vitamins, because the nutrients work as a team.
5. Lessen the Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages
Drinking alcoholic drinks will increase the chance of hair loss. Remove or reduce alcohol from your diet and you will notice a boost in hair growth.
6. Drink Water
The shaft of the hair is composed of one fourth water. Drink a minimum of four to eight cups of water per day to keep hydrated and develop a healthy hair.
7. Vitamin A
Vitamin A works with hair follicle’s fat synthesis and spurs hair growth that is why it helps produce shiny and vibrant hair. Foods containing vitamin A are carrots, squash, kale, eggs and etc.

I started loosing my hair since I was 17. I’m 19 now. I thought it was something temporary because I had long hair and i was tying it in a ponytail. So i’ve cut my hair and started taking more care of it. But the hair loss just evolved into worse.
IDK why but without my hair i have less confidence and everyone noticed that.
Please help me!
Sorry for my bad english.
Hey Adrian,
In all honesty, you should really go to the dermatologist and have your blood checked to see if you have any type of vitamin deficiency. If you don’t have any deficiency then your hair loss seems to be one of two things. Either Chronic Telogen Effluvium, or any type of Alopecia. I’m not an expert and I can sit around and make assumptions, but if this has gone on for such a long time, it’s more than likely going to remain for a long time until you do something about it. Also, I found these hair supplements called Hair Essential from Natural Wellbeing, and I am on my second month of taking the pills. They seem to be doing a good job of growing hair out, so you might want to look at that as an option. I really know how you feel, because I’ve been experiencing sever hair loss for almost two months now. My self esteem has seen a huge hit, and I was depressed for a really long time, but I realized that you need to be proactive and explore your options before things become irreversible.
Best Regards,
Sarah
I tried special shampoos and a garlic treatment. They had no effect.
There are many reasons for hair loss. Aside from disease (rare), hair loss usually occurs with aging. Few people in their 20s show signs of hair loss, but obviously people in their 30s and older do. The primary reason for age-related hair loss is hormonal changes.
Hormonal changes involve a complex interaction of many hormones and associated factors. It is not simple. But, safe to say age causes a loss of production and progressive imbalance between many hormones in the body.
The principal hormone related to hair loss is testosterone. As it becomes changed into something called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), hair follicles become affected and eventually die, causing hair loss. The same thing can happen to women but it is rare due to their different balance of hormones to begin with.
Sometimes you hear the phrase that hair loss is “genetic”. The amount of DHT production is genetic, and therefore so is hair loss. “Male pattern baldness” (genetic) involves programmed DHT rise in men.
Whenever there is DHT or hormone imbalance, there are other symptoms, although not as obvious as hair falling out! Anyone losing his–or her–hair should begin to investigate for other symptoms. This will require seeing a doctor skilled in what is known generally as “hormone balancing”, “bio-identical hormones,” and such doctors are usually (in the US) called “functional medical doctors” or “natural medical doctors”.
